The Holy Family Folder

February is dedicated to the Holy Family.  The Holy Family's Feast Day is December 26th.  I've finally gotten around to creating a Holy Family folder.

The prayer I chose:

Dear God, Heavenly Father, it was part of Your eternal decree that Your only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, the Savior of the human race, should form a holy family with Mary, His blessed mother, and His foster father, Saint Joseph.  In Nazareth, their home life was sanctified, and a perfect example was given to every Christian family. We pray that we may fully understand and faithfully imitate the virtues of the Holy Family so that we may be united with them one day in their heavenly glory. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Presentation

Happy Candelmas Day, the last day of the Christmas season.

My Feast of the Presentation folder is here (scroll down a bit in that post).

When the parents brought the child Jesus to Simeon to perform the custom of the law in regard to him, Simeon took him into his arms and blessed God, saying, "Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation which you prepared in sight of all the peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel."  The child's father and mother were amazed at what was said about him; and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, "Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted and you yourself a sword will pierce that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”  Luke 2:32-35
