Jesus gave Peter the keys to the Church. Even though Peter three times denied that he even knew Christ,Christ loved him and forgave him, and entrusted him to carry on His Church. Doesn't that give us such hope, that the failings of our own life can be redemmed by the love and forgiveness of Christ !
Paul's sword is "the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God." (Eph. 3:17) Paul did not personally know Jesus. For years, he publicly denounced Jesus as the Messiah. Paul eventually came to belive in Jesus as Our Lord, and went on to preach about Christ and helped develop the Church. Paul's life also gives us hope that we can turn to Christ after years of turning away, and be redeemed.

Great folders for this feast! We didn't get our act together in time to do anything but a discussion. I am really drawn to this feast so I'm thinking "better late than never." I'm headed over to check out your Sacred and Immaculate heart folders to do something this weekend. God Bless your
