Saints galore !!

I'm doing another catch-up post of Saints and Feast Days folders.  I'm featuring three today:  The Visitation, St. George, and The Immaculate Heart of Mary.   

The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin -- May 31

St. George -- April 23

Prayer:
Dear God,

St. George was a strong soldier for You. St. George stood up for Jesus and was killed for it. Make me a strong soldier for you. Give me courage to always stand up for You. Amen


St. George is thought to have been a soldier in the Roman army who was killed for his Christian beliefs by the Roman Emperor, Diocletian. Diocletian was an enemy to the Christians, and he put to death every Christian he could find. George was a brave Christian, a real soldier of Christ. George told the Emperor that the Emperor was wrong to kill, and then George quit the army. The Emperor then had George killed.

Pictures of St. George usually show him killing a dragon to rescue a beautiful lady. The dragon stands for evil, and the lady stands for God's holy truth. St. George was a brave martyr who was victorious over the devil, and a true soldier of Christ.

Dear God, You prepared the heart of Mary to be a home for Your Holy Spirit. Help us to become a more worthy temple for You. Amen.
