"Begin now...Believe me, don't wait until tomorrow to begin becoming a saint." Her Last Conversations, p.253. Reading that instilled a sense of urgency in me; eager urgency. Tomorrow could be too late to begin. I shouldn't waste the chance I have today and every day to strive toward holiness in my actions and thoughts and prayers.
Here's my newest Saint folder. We'll be using it to celebrate St. Joan of Arc next May. Yes, a ways off, but it's really interesting for me to research these saints -- some are new to me, many I know of but forgot some of the details -- and a lovely devotional time for me when I spend time reminding myself or learning about these holy people of God who literally gave their whole hearts and lives to Christ.
St. Joan of Arc -- May 30
St. Joan of Arc
Courageous Woman Soldier
St. Joan of Arc’s motto:
My God must be first served.
Prayer:
Dear God,
Give me strength to
stand up to enemies
of Jesus, as St. Joan did.
Help me love all people.
And help me to always hear
Your call to me for my life. I want to
always serve You first.
Amen
coloring page HERE, HERE and HERE. Faith Keepers CD, HERE, also has a nice coloring page of St. Joan of Arc.
Read more about this Saint HERE and HERE. She lived a life of fabulous devotion to Christ, fighting in a war at the age of 15, because St. Michael had directed her in Jesus's Name. She died at the age of 19 and in such a short life, she had accomplished such holiness as to earn sainthood as a reward.
St. Joan of Arc, pray for us !

Also, Xhonane at Familia Catolica has a similar post HERE listing the liturgical folders she has made thus far, and she will add to it as well.
Great coloring pages as usual! I agree, doing this helps me to get to know our beloved saints and feel them as my friends!
ReplyDeleteAnd continuing from what Xhonane commented...it helps me, as a homeschool mom.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your beautiful comment yesterday! That meant so much.
