More Saints Folders -- Catching Up

*****More*****
liturgical folders that celebrate Saints and Feast days. Xhonane at Familia Catolica is doing the same, and we're linking to eachother.

This post features The Good Shepherd, celebrated the Fourth Sunday of Easter;  and Our Lady of Fatima, celebrated on May 13.

Jesus, The Good Shepherd

Coloring pages here,  here, here, here, here, and one from Faith Keepers, a CD of printable holy cards that I bought through Soft Saints, here.
One prayer I chose is here, and copied below:

Faithful Shepherd, feed me
In the pastures green;
Faithful Shepherd, lead me
Where Thy steps are seen.

Hold me fast and guide me
In the narrow way;
So, with Thee beside me,
I shall never stray.

Daily bring me nearer
To the heavenly shore;
May my faith grow clearer.
May I love Thee more!

Hallow every pleasure,
Every gift and pain;
Be Thyself my Treasure.
Though none else I gain.

Amen.

Three other prayers I chose:

Almighty and ever-living God,
give us new strength
from the courage of Christ our shepherd,
and lead us to join the saints in heaven.

              ----------
The King of love my shepherd is,
Whose goodness fails me never;
I nothing lack when I am his
And he is mine forever.
Where streams of living water flow,
To rest my soul he leads me,
Where fresh and fertile pastures grow,
With heav’nly food he feeds me.
And so though all my length of days
Your goodness fails me never;
Good Shepherd, may I sing your praise
Within your house forever

          ----------

Psalm 23
A PSALM OF David.
The LORD is my shepherd; there is nothing I lack.
In green pastures you let me graze;
to safe waters you lead me;
you restore my strength.
You guide me along the right path
for the sake of your name.
Even when I walk through a dark valley,
I fear no harm for you are at my side;
your rod and staff give me courage.
You set a table before me as my enemies watch;
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Only goodness and love will pursue me
all the days of my life;
I will dwell in the house of the LORD for years to come.

Our Lady of Fatima -- May 13

Coloring pages here and here
The prayer I chose:
Oh my Jesus forgive us our sins,
Save us from the fires of hell,
Lead all souls to heaven
Especially those who are in  most need of your mercy.
Amen

Next, I will be posting folders to celebrate September Saints and Feast days.

Update:  September Saints and Feast Day folders are HERE and HERE.
And I've collected all the Saints and Feast Days folders in my post, "Through the Liturgical Year," HERE. Or check out my sidebar on the right at the top and click on the picture of the Archangels folder.

Celebrating Saints with Liturgical Folders -- Catch Up Post

     I'm creating liturgical folders that celebrate Saints and Feast days.  Xhonane at Familia Catolica is doing the same, and we're linking to eachother.

     In this post, I catch up with some of the Saints and Feast Days that Xhonane and her family have celebrated with liturigical folders, and am posting my own versions of them.   You can check out Xhonane's list of liturgical folders here.

Holy Trinity

coloring page here (and another beautiful Trinity coloring page HERE)
The prayer I chose for this folder:

Holy Trinity Prayer

Glory be to the Father,
Who by His almighty power and love created me,
making me in the image and likeness of God.

Glory be to the Son,
Who by His Precious Blood delivered me from hell,
and opened for me the gates of heaven.

Glory be to the Holy Spirit,
Who has sanctified me in the sacrament of Baptism,
and continues to sanctify me
by the graces I receive daily from His bounty.

Glory be to the Three adorable Persons of the Holy Trinity,
now and forever.

Amen.

Saints Joachim and Anne -- July 26

Since I posted our St. Anne and St. Joachim liturgical folders here, I found the following St. Joachim prayer:

Lord, God of our fathers,
through Saints Joachim and Anne
You gave us the Mother of Your Incarnate Son.
May their prayers help us to attain the salvation
You promised to Your people. Amen.

The Queenship of Mary -- August 22

coloring page here.
I chose this prayer:

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy; hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we sigh, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us and, after this our exile, shown unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Amen.

Ss. Peter and Paul -- June 29

coloring pages here,  here and here.
Prayers:

God our Father,
Today you give us the joy
of celebrating the feast of the apostles Peter and Paul.
Through them your Church first received the faith.
Keep us true to the Church's teaching.

-----------
Jesus gave Peter the keys to the Church.

-----------

Paul's sword is "the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God." (Eph. 3:17)

Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe -- December 9 and 12

The coloring pages hand drawn by Vee at Paper Dali are here.
The Our Lady of Guadalupe Prayer I chose:

Am I not here, who is your Mother?
Are you not under my protection? Am I not your health?
Are you not happily within my fold? What else do you wish?
Do not grieve nor be disturbed by anything.

I made a second folder since I love the feasts of St. Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe.  These coloring pages below are from Faith Keepers which I bought through Soft Saints, HERE.  A worthwhile purchase, the CD has 110 coloring pages of saints and stations of the cross and feasts days, and 110 pictures of the colored versions.  Another coloring page from That Resource Site HERE.

Soon, I will post a listing of the liturgical folders I've done and plan to do, with links on how to access them, chronologically following the liturgical year.  And I'll be linking them to Xhonane's folders too.  Stay tuned.

Want to join in and create liturgical folders as the Saints and Feasts Days approach?  I'll love to see your folders.

Update: And I've collected all the Saints and Feast Days folders in my post, "Through the Liturgical Year," HERE. Or check out my sidebar on the right at the top and click on the picture of the Archangels folder.

Celebrating Saints and Feast Days . . .

              I'm teaming up with Xhonane at Familia Catolica and creating liturgical folders that celebrate Saints and Feast days.    In this post, I catch up with most of the Saints and Feast Days that Xhonane and her family have celebrated with liturigical folders, and have posted my own versions of them.

             Xhonane posts her liturgical folders with a prayer in Spanish, and I'll be posting mine in English.  Xhonane and I plan to link our posts to each other, so you can see the variations in our folders and, that way, have a couple different ideas if you want to make a liturgical folder for a particular Saint or other Feast Day.

Here's my work in progress table.

Blessed Mother Teresa -- September 5

The coloring page on the left is here.  (I fixed this link -- it should now work)
The coloring page on the right is hand drawn by Vee at Paper Dali and is here.
The prayer I chose is here.  Or copy it below.

Mother Teresa’s Daily Prayer
Dear Jesus, Help me to spread Thy fragrance everywhere I go.
Flood my soul with Thy spirit and love. Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly that all my life may only be a radiance of Thine.
Shine through me and be so in me that every soul I come in contact with may feel Thy presence in my soul.
Let them look up and see no longer me but only Jesus. Stay with me and then I shall begin to shine as you shine, so to shine as to be a light to others.
Amen

See another variation of this folder in Spanish at Familia Catolica, HERE.

Presentation of Jesus in the Temple / Candlemas -- February 2

The coloring page is here.  Another one is here.
And this is the prayer I chose:
Candlemas
The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple

All-powerful Father,
Christ Your Son became man for us
and was presented in the temple.
May he free our hearts from sin
and bring us into your presence.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
+Amen

See another variation of this folder in Spanish at Familia Catolica here.

Pentecost

coloring pages here and here and another one here.  Or check out this beautiful one here.
Another Holy Spirit coloring page HERE.

A prayer and coloring page in one, is here

The prayer I chose:

Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Breathe into me, Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy.
Move in me, Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy.
Attract my heart, Holy Spirit, that I may love only what is holy.
Strengthen me, Holy Spirit, that I may defend all that is holy.
Protect me, Holy Spirit, that I may always be holy.  Amen
 --St. Augustine

See another variation of this folder in Spanish at Familia Catolica here.

Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha -- July 14

The coloring page is here.

I found this beautiful little prayer of St. Kateri:

Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha’s Prayer

"Who can tell me what is most pleasing to God that I may do it?"

Also check out this free downloable Blessed Kateri coloring book HERE.  See another variation of this folder in Spanish at Familia Catolica here.

Saints Joachim and Anne -- July 26

coloring pages hand drawn by Vee at Paper Dali  here and here
Another beautiful coloring page of St. Anne and little Mary HERE
The prayer I chose is a favorite one of mine:

St. Anne Prayer

Glorious St. Anne, filled with compassion for those who invoke you and with love for those who suffer, heavily laden with the weight of my troubles, I cast myself at your feet and humbly beg of you to take the present affair which I recommend to you under your special protection.

Vouchsafe to recommend it to your daughter, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and lay it before the throne of Jesus, so that He may bring it to a happy issue.

Cease not to intercede for me until my request is granted. (Here ask for favor you wish to obtain.)

Above all, obtain for me the grace of one day beholding my God face to face, and with You and Mary and all the saints, praising and blessing Him through all eternity. Good St. Anne, mother of her who is our life, our sweetness and our hope, pray to her for us and obtain our request. (Three times).

Amen

I'm still looking for a good St. Joachim prayer.

See another variation of this folder in Spanish at Familia Catolica here.

St. Ignatius of Loyola -- July 31

coloring page hand drawn by Vee at Paper Dali here.

I chose this prayer, because I think we can all use some help in becoming more generous:

St. Ignatius’ Prayer for generosity

Lord, teach me to be generous.
Teach me to serve you as you deserve;
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labor and not to ask for reward,
save that of knowing that I do your will.
Amen

See another variation of this folder in Spanish at Familia Catolica here.

St. Michael the Archangel -- September 29

Flower loved this folder.  Something about a guy with wings and a sword that really caught her attention.

coloring page hand drawn by Vee at Paper Dali here.  Another coloring page and prayer card HERE.

I chose this prayer:

St. Michael’s Prayer

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

See another variation of this folder in Spanish at Familia Catolica here.

Pope Benedict's Intentions

The coloring page is here

We'll add his monthly intentions, or I may look for a special quote or prayer related to the Holy Father.

See another variation of this folder in Spanish at Familia Catolica here.

St. Patrick -- March 17

The coloring page hand drawn by Vee at Paper Dali is here.  Vee also provides little Saintly accessories for many of her Saints drawing.  They are so wonderful.  See the banished snakes above ?

I chose this prayer:

St. Patrick’s Prayer

Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.
Amen

See another variation of this folder in Spanish at Familia Catolica here.

St. Joseph --March 19 (and May 1 St. Joseph the worker)

The coloring page hand drawn by Vee at Paper Dali is here.  Vee drew some great accessories for St. Joseph too.

I chose this prayer:

Oh, St. Joseph,
whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God.
I place in you all my interests and desires.
Oh, St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your devine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.
Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary of contemplating you,
and Jesus asleep in your arms;
I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart.
Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath.
St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls - Pray for me.
Amen

See another variation of this folder in Spanish at Familia Catolica here.

The Annunciation -- March 25

coloring page from Feast and Feria is here.  One from That Resource Site here.  There are many other beautiful annunciation coloring pages.  Check  here and HERE for other coloring pages.

I chose this beautiful prayer :

Magnificat
My soul magnifies the Lord,
And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.
For He has regarded the low estate of His handmaiden,
For behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name.
And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with His arm:
He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
and exalted those of low degree.
He has filled the hungry with good things;
and the rich He has sent empty away.
He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy;
As He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to His posterity forever.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen

See another variation of this folder in Spanish at Familia Catolica here.

Some of these coloring pages have already been colored by Little Flower.  And, as the feast days arrive, either still this year, or next, Little Flower and I will enjoy coloring the pages and praying the prayers as a way to celebrate the Saints and Feast Days.

Yet to come are folders for:
St. John Vianney
Saint José María Escrivá
Our Lady of the Brown Scapular / St. Simon Stock
Immaculate Conception

And I have a few other Saints' liturgical folders completed which I'll post soon.  Then Xhonane and I will post liturgical folders (in Spanish and English, respectively) for Saints and other Feast Days, following the liturical calendar.  So that when we post them, they have timeliness to them.

I hope you enjoy.

UPDATED TO ADD: Click on HERE to see a listing, in order, of all the Saints and Feast Day folders for the liturgical year, or check out the top right of my sidebar and click on the picture of the Archangels folder.

Two hearts

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Yesterday we celebrated the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

And we are celebrating Jesus' Heart all month long.

With help from cousin G, we made the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary using brown colored papier mache hearts from Hobby Lobby  --  red tissue paper was mod podged onto the hearts.  Red and orange tissue paper formed the flames which we glued into the tops of the hearts.  Brown pipe cleaners for Jesus' crown of thorns and sparkly pink flower embellishments for the roses on Mary's Immaculate Heart.  Popsicle sticks formed the Cross on Jesus' heart and the sword on Mary's heart, although toothpicks would have worked too.

We got the inspiration for the hearts from several bloggers, including Wildflowers and Marbles.    Gae at Cherished Hearts at Home did a lovely similar craft using felt and wool fleece.

We added a silver thread loop at the top center of the hearts, to hang the hearts.

Immaculate Mary, your praises we sing,
You reign now in Heaven with Jesus our King.
Ave Ave Ave Maria
Ave Ave Maria.

Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like unto Thine!

The Sacred Heart of Jesus

Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like unto Thine!
